     Ours is a warm and caring church that has been faithfully witnessing Jesus Christ through serving this community since 1855.  Our current membership numbers just over 400, with active programs ranging from our Church School classes to the Seasoned Seniors Programs for the over fifty-five set.

Rev. Gary Friend

    Rev. Gary Friend a native of Johnstown, Ohio, a small town northeast of Columbus.  He and his wife Susan are the parents of two adult children - Aaron and Leah. 

     The congregation of St. John United Church of Christ, Strasburg welcomed Rev. Gary Friend and Susan to Strasburg on Sunday, October 1, 2006.  He was ordained by the United Church of Christ November 12, 2006, in the Wooster Trinity United Church of Christ.  Rev. Friend attended Ohio University and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.  He also received a Master of Divinity from the Methodist Theological School in Delaware, Ohio.
