Mission & Outreach

Church20cross20blue20skyMission and outreach of St. John United Church of Christ includes programs organized by members of our Missions and Evangelism committees, as well as ecumenical programs which are a community effort of other area congregations including Strasburg United Methodist Church, The First Lutheran Church, Cross Connections and Community Bible Church.


Tuscarawas County Council for Church and Community (T-4-C): Ministers to persons in need of emergency assistance in the community, it provides a character formation (abstinence) Character Counts program in all the county schools, home improvements, Share-a-Christmas for 1300 needy families and other programs.

The Carpenter's Cupboard  A food pantry maintained by the United Methodist Church to provide families with emergency food when needed. The pantry receives donations from local organizations and churches to assist in the feeding of the hungry in the community.  They are open on the third Thursday of each month.


Tiger Paw Packs Program  Provides weekend meals to children in the  Strasburg School District who qualify for reduced or free lunches.  Maintained by St John United Church of Christ's Outreach Team with funding from the congregation as well as area businesses and local organizations.




"The Voice"

The Newsletter of St. John, published monthly, containing articles by the Minister and the Christian Education Activities Coordinator, a summary of the decisions of Church Council, Financial Reports, Mission Moments, Committee Activities, Upcoming Programs and Events, Denominational News, Member Communications, and Calendar of daily activities.
